Maybe a stupid question but is there a way to soft reset or something for natures/gender when you transfer RBY pokemon?

Gender is random, I.V's are random albeit 3 are auto perfect. Shiniess works on a simular formula to gen 2 but not the same. I believed they swapped the attack and defense requirements.
