I feel like they only put the genders on the legendary if they're relavent to the legendary's lore, although it might be a stretch for a lot. Cresselia is motherly, the genies are masculine Kami so obviously male, Latios and Latias are counterparts so they get the genders as that part of their lore, Heatran is just a really rare and strong mon so it has both genders, etc.

I mean lore-wise, on top of that. Lunala is a moon emisary, and the moon has always been associated with feminity (its one of the reasons cresselia is female), why didn't they just make it female too? is it because it technically is a UB so the rules of our world don't apply?

people like to have certain pokemon with specific genders, like male machamps and female gardevoirs. Thinking a pokemon would fit under a specific gender but have it locked out of the possible options (like hitmonchan) triggers their autism.

It's no different from balltism.

pokedex entries are a mixed bag anon, so they're not good to convince people. If you try to use them they bring up the older more convoluted entries, like alakazam's ridiculous IQ, and macargo's temperature being higher than the sun's, so I try to avoid those.

SuMo in general seemed to have largely more reasonable dex entries. If with a strange fixation on which pokemon eat which others.

I'm aware, but people who don't think of those as being gendered legendaries wont believe a word of what the dex says, regardless of how reasonable it sounds and how it works with the ingame universe, because of that one entry that sounds retarded. So there's no point in using the dex as an argument.

People who will accept the argument already believe those two are gendered, those who don't wont accept the argument.

As someone who has balltism, I understand the sentiment. The difference is I can appease my balltism since I can catch nearly every pokemon in nearly any ball, with exceptions.

you have these limitations too, very few, just like with pokemon without a more fitting gender being available. I ave heard many times people getting mad over the lack of apricorn balls in gen 7, which is somewhat the same, a limitation that, while small, is still annoying.
