I can do it too, there's nothing wrong with the gatr and it's the most competitively viable out of all of the starters that don't get megas. Next to serperior, Z-moves can turn any mon into a pseudo mega anyways.

His point is that saying Charizard needed a Mega to be good is pointless because it got that Mega, same as Feraligatr got its HA. And unlike Feraligatr, Charizard is effective and viable rather than a discount Gyarados.
