Sure first trailer of new movie implies its about Ash but we dont know if its retelling of his story or some new twist involving Marshadow for example
Ash hat Pikachu might be a smaller distribution not only revolving around the movie, afterall there are 6 versions of this Pikachu
Marshadow might be the main movie distribution, Pikachu might be tied to other special situations in Japan (and later on in the west)
People need to remeber Keldeo and Meloetta had a double distribution in 2012
Same with Hoopa and Arceus in 2015
