/vp/ went to shit when Sun and Moon got announced. Usually /vp/ goes through cycles:
1) New game is announced, influx of children from Reddit and /v/ for le epin leaks (even though /vp/ has never leaked anything notable ever)
2) Game gets released, the children are still here but there's actually stuff to talk about so it's not so bad
3) A month or so after release, most of the children go back to wherever they came from but the games are still relatively new so there's still something to talk about. /vp/ is actually decent for a couple of months.
4) /vp/ goes absolutely dead until the next game is announced. This is typically the best time for professional shitposters to force their memes since people have nothing better to discuss. Such classics like "Honchkrow is weak to Machamp" and "STILL liking Golem" are examples of the gold that /vp/ produces during this period.
Although ever since Sun/Moon's release, the retards that came here seem to have stayed. I personally blame things like GamerGate, smug Pepe, Baneposting and Donald Trump for bringing in hordes of outsiders to 4chan, where they have now made a permanent base. Also the mods actually started to purge furshit a few years ago. Now they seem to have given up on combating it.
