Game Freak doesn't care about the hardcore players, plain and simple, so expecting a Battle Frontier or any kind of in-depth battle facility more complex than a reskinned Battle Tree is pathetic.
Game Freak thought we liked the Battle Frontier for the CHARACTERS, for fuck's sake. That's why they gave us Anabel. Because they thought that was legitimately why we liked the Frontier. The idea of "enjoying a challenge" never even occurred to them.
