Every school needs a protagonist. A guy who is useless, but everyone still sucks his dick. Then he encounters some who hate him, and gets stronger as he overcomes them. Bonus points if he does something to create an outrage along the way, upsetting many.

If this was /a/, Subaru would fit this role perfectly. Ash seems to be the only choice for /vp/.
