And even then, Typhlosion is a more interesting and better realized concept. It has the volcano theme, notable in its design by its resemblance to a volcano from behind with its flames out. (The blue being the side of a volcano and the fire being an eruption). Meganium is literally just a sauropod (being one of the most common dinosaurs types in pop culture, second only to T-rex and raptors, so the animal basis isn't even particulary inspired) with a flower around it. The antenna is a nice nod to the anatomy of flowers (being the pistil of a flower) but that's it.
