Well, Marvel won.

To think my childhood dream of a Pokemon fighting game could die like this, our last chance to support it, bring the scene back, get official support back, and have the arcade characters released to the Wii U version were all for naught. It's heartbreaking seeing it end like this, with no official support the flame will die out and the scene will die. You can forget about playing with Scizor, Empoleon, Darkrai or Croagunk now because the game is dead, Marvel and the FGC gave it the final blow. It could have been a great series too, future installments could have had even more characters, improved mechanics, some cool shit like a double battle mode or something like Tekken Ball, get stuff like spectator mode, trophies, multiple alternate colors, survival mode, and have a healthy and thriving community with plenty of new people coming in and have a consistant flow of tournaments and tourneys for everyone. The future was so bright, it could have been the third pillar of the Pokemon franchise alongside the main games and the TCG, now all we can do is watch as it fades to a slow and inevitable death.

Rest in peace, Pokken Tournament.
