Yeah, Seismitoad did improve a lot in the model transition. Most Pokemon did. Xatu and Glameow are the only two I can think of off the top of my head that got worse, and they fixed Glameow in SM.

Technically it's more consistent with the official Sugimori art but it also looks worse. And I think the Sugimori art is intentionally washed out as a stylistic choice.

Typhlosion's battle model should have its fire flaring out at all times like in the sprites, because it's in battle. Of course it would be actively burning its fire. Leave the fire out in Refresh when you wanna pet it or whatever.
Would that fix it? It would be enough for me.

Typlosion would benefit from being depicted on all fours more. Same with Feraligatr. This isn't relevant to a battle since height = intimidating but Typlosion is too bland already to have it be worse as a 24/7 biped

implying a hovering Lugia would be any better

they should have kept the standing model and just make it unusable in sky battles (like pidgey) if they cant programm 2 models
