I'm rewatching the first season of the Animu and noticed something.

Why the fuck do they treat evolution as something bad? Like it's a sin and morally wrong thing to do

No, the concept was forcing Pikachu to evolve with a stone. When pokemon evolve naturally it's because they choose to, stone evolution is forced by the trainer. That's why Ash wanted to let Pikachu decide.

It's just that some pokemon liked their identity. In the first season ash's pokemon had a ton of personality. pikachu and bulbasaur didn't want to grow big and slow they perfected to stay small and spry

Bulbasaur actively did the evolution cancel in one episode. It didn't want to be an ivysaur.

There was that eevee brothers episode too.
