The starter ones seem a lot less genuine.
I really think he saw how shitty the community was over these starters and didn't want the start of gen 7's dex to start off with mindless flamewar comment sections.

Also the people who quite literally say they dislike/like them solely based on how popular they are (i.e. X starter is less popular so I picked it to not be the same, X starter is popular so I don't like it because it's too bandwagony, etc.). It feels like I'm looking at a mixture of /v/ and twitter down there.
