Nah, that would be bullshit. But if, for example, right now they announced a new "battle frontier" style DLC with online features for Sun and Moon i'd be cool with it

i wouldnt mind it, since the first new gen game never have battle frontier. They could add it on the second game afterwards, just like mario deluxe come with all the dlc for "free"

Why would they do that when they can get you to pay full price for either the same game but different, or a remake of a previous game?

wouldn't it cost more to make the third version or a remake than copy pasting the battle tree with some slight basic variations? And a lower price range can also net in more people than third versions generally do.
