In all seriousness, you're right OP. Gen 4 and 5 were the glory days of the series, and I fully agree with the fact that we'll never get games of that quality again

The reason the last two gens have been average was because of shit directors. Once we have a pokemon game directed by someone like Morimoto and Unno again the series will be saved.

No, once GameFreak stops wanting to milk the franchise by pumping the games full of Genwun and promotional material, THEN we'll have good games again. The problem now is that they value shit like Ash-Greninja/Ash-Pikachu, Z-Moves, Gen 1 pandering and events more than actual content. Just look at how much there is in XY and SM.

honestly the special physical split was the best thing to ever happen to pokemon, and not just for competitive fags. So many pokemon that are considered good were unusable before 4th gen because of their types not being good for their stats. like gryados and flareon. Though flareon is still kind of shit it can at least try now.
