So why aren't they universally hated? There is nothing good about them.

They look ugly and stupid, their battle theme sucks and they're poorly implemented into the world of the games.

The designs are good, especially Tapu Koko. Only one I dislike is Fini. The theme was good and fitting for what they were based on, I will give you that they weren't well implemented into the story, though.

I was talking about how their temples are two rooms with nothing in them besides one or two rocks to push out of your way.

Compare to something like Articuno which is in a relatively large dungeon with actual puzzles.

What about the genies from B/W? They're all just reskins of each other with different typings. Sure, the lake trio is in the same boat, but at least they have more than just different tail bulbs and skin colors.

Then the fault fall into the designer, not the Pokemon themselves, which kinda makes the third point moot.

What? I like the lake trio more than (Incarnate) genies, but they have the same typing and are LITERALLY the same Pokemkn wearing three different hats. Every element of the genies is (subtly) different, including the tails, things behind their heads, body marks, and horns. The lake trio members one different element between them, besides Squint's near-sightedness.

Dungeons are suppose to be "tedious" thats the whole point. What's more tedious is the extremely slow movement speed for pushing blocks.

He meant instead of "uhhhhhh fuckin give it huge power/sheer force/regenerator lol" they each got unique abilities that bring something totally new to battles (the terrains are oldish, but they pretty much unusable before). You can't be that dumb.
