I'm fairly ccertain zigzagoon is also a raccoon dog. I don't speak Japanese, but aren't the words for tanuki and badger roughly the same, which is why one evolves into the other? Regardless I still want a raccoon that actually plays up the stealing aspect.

i think it's more meant to be a temperature gauge. imagine each bar appearing the hotter it gets like things in games often have to symbolise overheating (guns, machinery etc).

Eeey, I was just thinking about a Cockatrice pokémon last week.

Cockatrixes are known for being uber poisonous and I think Dragon would be overplayed, so I was thinking Rock/Poison would be neat.

Add in a new move that inflicts Petrification status, which Ghost Ground Steel and Rock types like itself would be immune to.

Also the only way to get it is by elaborately crossbreeding certain pokémon together, and it can't breed itself.
