The Sun and Moon anime is honestly, in my opinion, the most interesting take on the series to date.
I know everyone was (and in some cases still are) quick to hate on the art style but really that was the only thing that drew me in to begin with. I had no interest in seeing it originally but when I saw the animation previews I was taken aback by just how fluid and.... ANIMATED the characters all were.
I never really had a problem about the shows original look, but after seeing just how much movement and expression they've pumped into this new series, I could never go back to such a bland and lifeless art style.
It's an honest to god breathe of fresh air and as an artist I love seeing all the little things both the pokemon and characters are doing in the foreground and background. Not to mention this is my FAVORITE depiction of Team Rocket yet.
There's just something calming about the pacing and how everything looks, and the writing doesn't have me cringing as much as XY's did. With XY I only enjoyed the pokemon fights alone but with S&M I enjoy the fights... and everything else?
I dunno it's just.... fun.
I'm having FUN while watching it, and in dreary times like these I NEED to have things that can I do that with.
