It's actually one of my favorites from gen 1. That said, I never much cared for how the supposed 'happy' face's expression looks near identical to the angry one. I wish there had been more effort put forth to differentiate the two.
Then again, it makes the sad face stand out a lot more, so maybe it's a good thing.
