>>31948947It's a simple trope where a character grows to like someone they initially had a lower opinion of. This made me realize just how similar Pikachu and Charizard are to Ash.
They were both not Pokemon he'd pick, but only choose because he had no other option left. Both, at some point, disobeyed him. Through Ash showing genuine care for them, they both grow to like him. They both had their moment where Ash left them behind and the Trainer and Pokemon cried. Both still shock/burn Ash even after all this time.
Honestly, just thinking about it made me want to see him again. Not even a Zardfag, but I really liked Ash's Zard.
