The mastercreater guy is a good artist, but he's bad at making fakemon (taking as criteria here the generally overdesigned and bizarre lines that I've seen him make). Those are very different things that one person can be at the same time.
Take narwhaland for example. Is a landwhale, a concept that has been made many times as a fakemon and arguably better by previous artists already.
I do admit I like merlice/merlire and wickeroot, even if the later falls in the burning tree cliche, because those designs at least aren't anywhere as cluttered as the rest of his stuff
