I'm a shitty player hovering around 1700-1800 and Lugia, Kirlia and Mew are really good to get around and defend yourself against the bullshit lineups, glad I pulled them when I first started

Yeah. Your team is also probably the biggest factor. It can usually steamroll people in a gym (which is less balanced than the normal meta) if you have a stacked team.

What do you do when your opponent plays defensively with Pokemon that are just stronger than yours?
Sleep and Hurdle Jump don't really matter when your opponent has 2-3 outdamaging Pokemon sitting around their Home.

what's the best story mode stage for grinding for exp?

Is it chateu de rosa stage 10? The prize wheel gives figures for both blue and purple spaces. Usually figures are blue only and plates are purple. This stage is obnoxious though because all of the opponent's figures have moves that move your figures around and give them Wait. It's a team literally designed to waste your time.

What stages are you guys grinding (if at all)?

It happens occasionally where I get a time loss because they camp 3-4 on their goal but not lately. Suicide Shupper can fix that situation a lot of the time and sometimes you can just bait them into spreading back out if they've got too many there. Play fast.

It's more often they have 2 back there while I own their entries and at that point it's just positioning and sending enough bodies until you get lucky since they can't do shit but stall.

This game was pure luck but I'm glad I could ruin a Reuniclus user.
The first went down due to Shuppet's wow, the other died to Poliwhirl.
The third still gave me trouble even from that fucking spot, if he didn't fuck up a move and let shuppet win, he could have gone for timer stall since anytime I'd get closer he'd plain kill me.

I can somewhat handle Deoxys even with a not minmaxed team, and it's not rare for Deoxys-A to fuck himself over with his purple.
Reuniclus for me it's "just forfeit and don't waste 2 minuts of your life" tier.

100% agree. I only kept him around since he was my first figure, but I had to really play carefully with it in higher ranked matches, and I almost always lost if it died.

But yeah I do plan to repurpose the team to include more 3mp mons. At the present it's awkwardly stuck between a team that uses rushing, and a slower balanced team. Might either just buy Deo-A for cosmo memes (since I have N and S ) or Eeveelutions/Whimsicott and Shuppet

Umbreon is underrated but I'd trade the usefulness of sleep vs toxic over 4 extra purple+dodge any day. Opponents are more scared of accidentally hitting sleep than accidentally hitting toxic.

They're 3MPs that are relatively hard to kill due to their high purple+blue chance (highest among MP 3s in general) and can induce the two best status effects in the game, either of which can be better than a KO in the right spot.

It's mostly a toss up between the two. I prefer Leafeon because it's 4 slots more likely to land its Sleep inducer than Glaceon is to land its Freeze inducer (Glaceon is 4 slots more likely to land its white which isn't great). As I mentioned freeze/sleep can be a lot better than a KO in the right spot so the difference between freeze and sleep is relatively negligible in my use. Leafeon's ability isn't game changing but it's a nice extra as well.

I'll add that if some really strong grass figures are released Leafeons ability will become really good against them, but currently it's just the occasional Chestnaught and maybe a Whimsicott now. So essentially its main use right now is just moving among your own Leafeons, like Genesect's ability.

My 3mp mons usually have purple attack.

Either the opponent is too intimidated to take any immediate action, or they miss, get effected.

Either way, they tay on the first spawn point while my second 3mp takes the second.

Meanwhile, all I have to do is hop over Magikarp, and reach your goal. Even if you fight me to evolve, I'm still faster than you.

So that means the board looks like

Karp on my spawn.
2MP attacker in a side line.
And you have nothing.

Turn 1: Throw a figure 2 or 3 on the point diagonal from the spawn. 3 is preferred in case the strategy goes south.

Turn 2: send a 3 Mp towards their goal. More than likely, they will send out a pokemon to block you one step ahead of the goal without attacking.

Turn 3: Jump them and land on their goal . Either they will attack, hop over you, block you with they first pokemon they sent out, or use goal block to be safe..

Turn 4: repeat step 2.

Turn 5: Use the first pokemon you sent out to surround the second pokemon you hopped over

Turn 6: win

Doesn't work all the time though. And when it doesn't, I still have a 3 defending my goal.

In between turns 1 and 2, I put down a 2MP attacker diagonal from my spawn. You can't jump over since you're diagonal from your spawn, and you can't get to my spawn or goal.
You likely die if you attack and if you roll purple, I fix it up next turn.

well basically, if you go ahead with Karp on turn one, you can use Karp as a rusher whenever it's safe to do do with Hurdle Jump and the fact that it has two lives.
It works on the basis that nobody expects it, and even if they do that worst that can happen is I get some bad luck and lose. The roll that determines my win or loss in the situation where they know it's Rush Karp is largely in my favor.

I take Mew out of the equation because I see from the team preview and I'm not taking dumb risks of gimmick rushes when they have hard checks to my best defense.

Putting your mon on spawns was smart though. Side rushes where somebody put something right in front of me + I hurdle wins so many games it's crazy

If your talking about buying him with material, then id say it depends on your play style. He's a high risk, high reward type of guy. He can come up short sometimes (who doesn't) but he more than makes up for it if you use him properly. So if you ain't the gambling type (in an rng based game lol) then he may not be for you. No nerfs and no direct counters, so I think he's still s-tier.

If you like gambling then he's a fun figure that can pull off great plays.

The only way karp rush would ever be remotely viable is just running a 3MP up the board and Pokemon switching it in. It's too slow to play the pressure game otherwise.
