It is black and red. (and white...whatever.) notably having red eyes. It has a grim reaper scythe for a horn and a tail, and has sickle claws. It has a tragic backstory. It lives alone up in the rugged mountains like a boss because it's treated so unfairly and is so #Misunderstood. It can sense natural disasters that mere mortals cannot because it's #Sensitive. The mega has emo hair and is a winged death angel of some sort. There are probably a couple other edgy facts I can't think of.
And yet... it isn't edgy. I know I personally don't think of it as so.
I wonder why that is. Could it be because all the black and red is overpowered by white? Because it's so fluffy? Because it's actually a hero and it saves people? For some reason, nobody thinks of Absol as edgy despite having all the hallmarks. It is a very well done pokémon.
