Rules: Just one idea at a time.

I start, the region is based in the mythical version of Transylvania (Ala Castlevania or Vampire Hunter D world). Land of monsters.

some pokemon are more powerful at night than during the day and vice versa
to compensate for not everyone being able to play the game at all times of the day, the game runs on its own internal clock rather than real life time; time passes in the game as you play, and you can rest at an inn or something to pass time quickly

There's s boss Spiritomb that has been absorbing the souls of other Spiritombs. It's a giant green cluster of spirals and Spiritomb faces. Would get buffs to all of its stats, with its HP being insanely high because its a boss. Non-catchable.

maybe an ability like wishiwashi, where once it gets to half health or whatever the two get seperated
