>>31979153For fishing, the first thing I'd do is eliminate the "all water in the area spawns the same Pokemon" shit. That's one reason I felt SM was a step in the right direction. Have different Pokemon spawn in different parts of the water, like every other video game with fishing ever. Maybe even turn reeling in the fish into a full-fledged mini-game, so harder fish feel more challenging to get. Hell, maybe even indicate when you're reeling in a Pokemon with unique moves or high stats. Bait too, maybe?
For the Safari Zone, I'd add some kind of a hunting/tracking mechanic where you have to find the Pokemon before battling it. Maybe something like a cross between the Poke-finder and catching Wimpod? If they want to keep the standard "the Pokemon can flee" mechanic, give the player a chance to try to figure out where it ran off to before it gets away completely.
Those are just what I could come up with in two minutes.
