Apparently it was GF's half assed effort to fix the cloning glitch of gen 6, but instead of just making it for local and personal trades they did a blanket hit. I hate when my internet disconnects like that, I feel ya.

That's just what I got from google, mostly gamefaqs and other game forums.
Seems like on average it's max 48 hours, the week ban apparently happens if the game thinks you purposely disconnected several times in a row (e.g. rage quit).

Hmm, I have the theory that there's a value inside the savefile of Sun/Moon that keeps the state of banning.

I rely on this because I restored a previous backup (before the soft ban on gts) and everything worked perfect after that.

Maybe someone can report this to SciresM or Kaphotics to start a research to know if it's possible to add an option within pkhex to unban the saves.

Anyway, I advise to be careful with backups because meh pgl synchronization
