Rock Tunnel is the worst place in the game. I've beaten Gen 1 more than any other video game except maybe ALTTP and I still loathe every second of that cave.

Not only does it punish you for not wasting a move slot on Flash, but it's loaded with Zubats and Rock/Ground trainers which forces you to over-level your Water or Grass type. Don't get me wrong, I love a good challenge, but it seems a bit cheap.

I didn't mind them in theory, but Sun/Moon turning them into D-Pad commands was a much better way of handling their function.

Hoenn water routes
Rock Tunnel
Wela Volcano Park

Unova Route 18

That really was a poorly designed dungeon, though. The "difficulty" is dependent entirely on how fast you stumble upon the card key. It's not even really a puzzle.

The best part is that the previous dungeon has you beat a grunt to get the card key, so most people run around fighting grunts until they notice that it's laying out in the open.
