expected damage from greninja is really low (i fucking know, mine spins twice most of the time and that's it, sometimes once, sometimes 3, ONCE it hit it 5 times), and if effective i would've won no matter what, but rng decided to give me a big FUCK YOU right after it spun 3 shuriken (the max it could spin for me to win) and proceeded to more than double that shit

I hope you mean CLv, because EXs level up a fuckton slower than Commons. CLv is gotten either from cubes or doubles, which are a lot more common for more common mons (wow, crazy) so either way not bullshit

source: have a CLv'd Emolga somewhere, did not feel rustled along the way

It allows Draco Meteor to not tie with Stuff like Will o wisp and Cotten gaurd, Cancel Soar, and snipe goalies from across the board while allowing dragon claw to tie with a non Clevel'd Dragon breath, so it's worth.

I don't know, i've been trying to Clv up this prinplup and it's taking me ages, i'm right now at 23/30, and while it's a common figure it's still hard to find any double, so i've been doing it mostly out of C cubes

i don't believe you, specially because players over 2400 won't try to block you with a figure in the middle of the board, they will go for a counter rush or put the figure 1 space away from yours.

anyone who isn't aware of you having a hurdle jump and moves next to your scout is bound to

a) fight it out or risk it walking into the goal (this is why Eons and greninja are mostly the ones used for this, they have good dodge, without wait like Squirtle does)
b) block it's way with their own hurdle jump and give up the entry point for a while (this is the main use for diving entry early in the game, and why people start with the birds, just in case)

c) use goal block early (fags)

I just won a match because of this. Ran a Deoxys-S towards the goal, he defended with Greninja, attacked, I landed on Quick Attack, he landed on Shuriken once and I walked into the goal in 3 turns

you should never be able to take a goal with a single player against a deoxys swapper

if he moved that attack deoxys forward instead of (assuming) putting defense on the entry earlier then he could keep running speed to his goal and swapping it out to whatever is on his bench whenever you attacked it, so it would be ready to run back to goal and repeat every time you knocked something off with lugia

What do you think? Shelgons make good defenders and +MP will only make them better, plus can evolve, Marwiles have Trickery, the largest segment, which is blue and allows me to choose to whether to basically get away scot free or roll over to a 70 (or 90 in gym) attack. Sligoo is just so I'll have a 3MP defender if necessary. I really want a Reshiram obvs. Also I have 2 Jigglypuffs ready for another, but I do want to see how the Mawiles run.

shelgon is alright, but depends on how the gym meta goes though really

He goes from a 40+50(poison boost)+20(manaphy boost) to a 80+10(evo)+20(manaphy), and his attack poisons or paralyze the opponent, which is better than poison, and it will still buff your tentacools AND it's attack wont go down if you're missing one or 2 tentacools

Metagross got knocked out by his Zapdos when it rolled Bullet Punch, which in turn got knocked out by my Gardevoir when it rolled Steel Wing. Managed to knock out two of the Renuniclus while Metagross was still on the field, which helped tremendously.
It ended up back on the bench because the single Reuniclus kept on trying to knock out what I had on his entry point (which I just back onto when I pushed a figure up and eventually it got cycled back to the bench.

usually its between 4-7 turns? (for each side)
I've got a latias which makes it pretty easy, it only ever dies to bidoof if latias rolls the 4/96 miss

Deo-A actually makes a solid reuniclus check because if you can get confused you suddenly have a 53% dodge wheel so it can just sit on an entry point

You don't. That's the nature of these sort of games, you languish if you weren't there at the start or get really unlucky with your boosters (unless you're a whale who wants to throw money at the game until you're vaguely caught up, except even then, the rotating draws from boosters limits that somewhat).

That's not to say you can't do anything with a weak team. For giggles, I threw together an all-ground team with only one rare, the rest commons or uncommons, and have won eight of my nineteen matches with it (2200s - 1800s brackets). Luck with attacks and better positioning can trump over a better team, you just need considerably more than if you had a strong team, due to not having as many win states during fights and having fewer options for positioning.

Basically, you just need to get used to being disadvantaged. You either give up, or just keep playing anyway, doing your dailies and saving up, hoping for luck to swing your way.

Also, the game doesn't even look at your team, just your rating. Since you're still fairly low rated, as long as you pay smart, your rating will keep going up regardless of your team, because you're playing fellow newbs and people who are kinda bad at the game.

Lads, what do? Is it me, or my internet? Even just moving a Pokemon on the first turn usually takes 5 seconds.

I like duel, but it's getting annoying to have the timer against me every game. Recently won a game via timer win on 1 second left. My opp had somehow eclipsed me in time left even though my moves during midgame were basically just methodical goal blocking or moving up to try to break through his goalie. Had to use fucking Carlo to get my time back and barely won by the skin of my teeth.

i trace out the opponents potential paths during their turns, then slam my figures as fast as possible accordingly.
that being said, dont be dumb about it, if they made an unexpected move youre sure to make one too.
get used to patterns, i can generally say "theyre going to do this" then they do

As long as they don't have a "Whirlwind" mon, you can push it forward, maybe hurdle jump, or like how I do, rush with Deoxys-S then switch. Regardless of that, it is a strategy. It might not be a good one in your opinion, but that doesn't make it a strategy. A non-strategy would be hoping to win by forfeiting immediately or waiting for your timer to run out.

this is probably incredibly effective when they send Mew out first turn, they always prefer to run it back and block the path than risk a dodge or miss on Deo-s, i think I'm gonna try it, since more than often they'll ignore the Deo and prefer to push forward since it's already blocked

The only time freeze is better than sleep is when you're trying to take out their goal keeper. Otherwise imo it's better to just put things to sleep and leave them there.
