pattern as well, if gen8 also has a cute stater, a cool starter and a strong starter then it will be confirmed they created a "formula" fo starters, maybe after gen5 backlash?
Also the amount of waifu mons has increased immensely in gen8, it might be just coincidence, but i think the house designers decided to pander to a certain group of pokemon players, and it worked, gen7 sold like hotcakes, why? Maybe it was that, or the crazy UB shit, or the gen1 pandering, or the"innovation" with the no gyms stuff. Regardless, i think next gens will follow the trends they have started recently in pokemon designs.
