There were short as fuck, easy as fuck, and had a very, very tiny scope.

Perhaps the first and third are just limitations of the 3DS (the game is over 3gb; huge for a 3ds game), but still.

They weren't, though? It was an average duration, I'd say
18 hours in X, 25 in S/M for me alteast
And a few Totem battles were actually challenging for a while, every game is easy tbfh

GEN VII is prety much a folder gen until GEN VIII comes out for switch, it's pretty much like GEN V.

SM probably had the best difficulty curve in the series. It's easy enough to be played casually, but not so easy that you don't have to think while playing.

I blacked out maybe half a dozen times while I was playing. I dont know if that's considered "too easy" for you, but I really dont think a handheld casual game should be more difficult.

There was only 14 minutes of cutscenes. Dialogue and the "movies" people keep mentioning are different things. All RPGs have dialogue, and Pokemon actually has an unusually small amount in prior games. Not all RPGs have animated, loaded cutscenes.

I at least have a better separation of it than you. You seem to imply that you think dialogue is the same as cutscenes, which is retarded. Cutscenes can have dialogue, but not all dialogue is a cutscene.

Even if you include dialogue as cutscenes and any sort of interaction as a cutscene, there's not 5 hours. Maybe 45 min to one hour at most, unless you are a very slow reader.
