In the next gen of Pokémon games what would you like to see:

1. 100+ New Pokemon species and more regional variants (not included as part of the 100+).

2. 70-80 (or less) new species and regional variants.

3. 100+ new species and no regional variants/megas.

4. Less than 100 new species and no new regional variants/Megas.

I'm asking because I know I'd love to see heaps of new Pokémon and regional variants new gen and I wondered what others want to se.

I want as many new Pokémon as possible, while they're still good and doesn't take away from the rest of the game. Black and White added lots of new Pokémon without it taking away from the rest of the game, which is exactly the way it should be, however I could have done without the Klink, Vanilite, Trubbish, Foongus and Timburr lines. All but one of those are just Gen 1 copies and Vanilite is just... eh.

I should also say that I absolutely love the idea of alternate forms and regional variants; I love how they're including Darwinian evolution and how they show how one species can have changed over time in different climates to become different Pokémon, yet not different enough genetically to be considered a different species altogether. I absolutely hate jokemons like Dugtrio and Persian, but at least SOME of the Alola forms take this concept seriously, like Vulpix, Sandshrew, Marowak and Exeggutor.

So I guess my answer to OP's question is #1 if they have enough development time (SM for example would not have been able to live up to this) or #2 if they do not.

I also want more Megas. And more split-evolution lines. And more baby Pokémon. I just generally want more variety in all directions. Instead of getting 150 all-new Pokémon, I'd rather have 100 new Pokémon, 10 new cross-gen evos, 20 new alternate forms, 20 new Megas and 20+ new Regional Variants.

I agree with your stances (especially the disdain for jokemons) except for more Megas (not a fan of temporary form changes) and baby Pokémon (useless cutesy Pokemon that really serve no purpose)
