In my first yellow run it was these three.

God rest the soul of that dugtrio, basically soled the entire game with it. Articuno was just for E4 and pikachu was with me up until diglett's cave so I kind of just kept it.

Today my ideal gen 1 team would be this.

Pinsir
Muk

Those are my favorites of kanto.

Not a team i normally use, but yellow doesnt have as many options as i like. Gen 1 Jolteon is OP as fuck though, solo'd Koga's Venowank team at just level 39

I didn't like the fact that Poliwhirl lost speed upon evolving, and I saw the added fighting type as a liability considering the only fighting stab move it could get was fucking submission. She would end up becoming a Politoed when I started Silver.

I just played through Red for the first time since 1998 or 1999. When I was a kid, I gave up at the Elite 4 and just used Missingno to dupe rare candies. This time it actually felt easier than my first Sun playthrough.

Same. But I was a fucking idiot so the same thing happened to me in ruby. One pokemon vs the entire league I remember being so fucking stubborn, I saved at the beginning of the league and kept reloading that save and trying to fight the league differently, but still only using that one fucking blaziken. I'm not an idiot anymore, I swear

I don't disagree from a battling perspective, though I like them both. But I seriously don't get why they'd make them so similar, especially in color. Dragonite should have been blue.

I never learned to use anything outside of my overlevelled starter until halfway through Gen 3, when I was 11 or so. My level 80ish Charizard is still sitting on my Red cartridge (if the batteries haven't dried up by now).
