For example, if you're disappointed because you believe it ruined the pre-evolutions in the line - just momentarily detach them from the line and start evaluating it on its own, "What does this design bring to the Pokemon world that no other Pokemon does?" as opposed to "How does this Pokemon compare to what came before it?" for example.
Once you've recognised exactly what it is that makes you sad with the particular designs in their own merit, start looking to how that particular thing may be perceived by other people. When you see them the way that others do; you might start to notice that the previous flaws might just have been overplayed - that it was an obligation to you or perhaps just something that you can appreciate in terms of how it's making others happy. Keep doing this and eventually you'll stop seeing it as "I don't like ____'s ____!" and start to say to yourself "Hey, ____'s ____ is a nice little thing for fans of ____."
Ultimately though, there'll always be Pokemon that you just can't enjoy for whatever reason and you shouldn't try to force yourself into doing so. As long as you're nice to the fans of them and take the time to figure out why their fans exist, it's all good.
