Kinda wish that they made it so that you were forbbiden to use more than the amount of items that the e4 can use. Like if the e4 are unable to use revived then you shouldnt be either.

This is a game meant for casuals so I doubt that will ever happen but one can dream.

There's nothing stopping you from imposing your own challenges. And before you say "b-but I shouldn't have to intentionally gimp myself", there's nothing stopping you from using an early route shitmon throughout the entire game instead of just using Pokemon that are objectively more powerful. Pokemon is a game that is all about options.

I typically change the battle mode to set in stead of shift to "gimp myself" because i find it much more fun that way as it gives the game some of its challenge back

I haven't actually played Pokemon in like over 10 years. But the e4 was always a joke as far as I can remember. You just over level a few pokemon and you're good.
