I got her to play Black. She liked it well enough. She's currently playing through Moon, but slowly. She gets distracted by other games easily, so I'm not sure if she REALLY likes it or just well enough.

She did, however, promise to learn competitive after she finishes Moon. I'm hoping she gets into it more then, as she's pretty casual right now (which isn't a bad thing, it's just that I have more knowledge of it than her, and so we can't talk as deeply about it as I'd like.)

Playing games when we're all free is sort of a thing, and Pokemon is one of the few single player games everyone likes. My daughter loves it and plays it a lot, and since she's still too young to understand everything on her own, my wife and I usually play with her. Though she doesn't need as much help with SM and its in-battle type chart, we still like playing together since we, or at least I, love the games too.

There's hardly any girls my age who are available. I'm only 20 and a handful of my friends are already engaged or even married. My fiance has played pokemon since she was a kid. She buys the new games but rarely finishes them. She's more into PC and PS4 games. I play competitively with our friends and make her teams she wants to use. They're mostly shitmon but I do my best.

Also she maunly uses dragons and that is suicide thanks to tapu and other fairy's.

Though she still sometimes play moon.

She has once masuda Methoded for a shiny charmander because it's her favourite. Then she never again touched the eggs.
