>>32128462Because it's not as developed as Gen 1-3 in terms of documentation (and it's like that because nobody hacks it, it's a Catch-22) and because mapping in Gen 4 and 5 is a lot harder than in Gen 1-3, requiring you to create 3D models then import them into the game and then overlay tiles onto the model and then add sprite objects on top of them, it's not impossible but it's a lot more complicated than just creating a map from a tileset like in the games everyone does hack.
There's nothing stopping anyone from hacking Gen 4 or 5, and if the community got up and said "you know what, we're all going to start hacking these generations" and collaborated the progress would be tremendous, but most people are complacent and/or lazy, which is why 90% of hacks being made right now are FireRed or Emerald hacks, with the last 10% being Gen 1/2 hacks (and the percentage of Gen 1/2 hacks in development has gone up a huge amount compared to a few years ago thanks to the disassemblies for those games making hacking them a lot easier).
