>>32137907Black and White did it too. In fact, the only gens that broke a pattern are gen 3 and gen 5, and both of them created an even stronger one. And they weren't that revolutionary, either. Gen 3 added remakes, gen 5 took third versions away. Nothing else changed. A third version on a new console would be a huge change, we've never seen something THAT big before. It could happen, but it's highly unlikely.
