Will GF actually learn anything from Breath of the Wild and its success, or will it have no influence on Pokemon?

Hopefully some higher up will tell Masuda to make the next games more like BOTF.

They're two completely different genres of game.

One is an action-adventure game, and the other is a JRPG.

Breath of the Wild took strong influence from JRPGs. Are you saying Pokemon should?

Breath of the Wild feels like Nintendo realised how incredibly shitty Skyward Sword was, in spite of the "10/10 Ocarina of Time has finally met its match!" reviews it got at launch.

Maybe one day Gamefreak will realise how bad SM were.

Pokemon already did take strong influence from JRPGs. See DQ5 and the Megami Tensei series.

To be fair, Pokémon to me has always been about exploration and discovering new Pokémon in their habitat. I don't want the main series to be open-world, but an open-world Pokémon game could be amazing if done right.
