This is the only true canon appearance of Mew.

For all we know it may have lived isolated on this tiny island for millennia, only to ever have been seen by Mr. Fuji and later May and Brendan.

Despite all the wi-fi events, glitches, marketing and love for it, it really is just an unknown little islander that nobody knows anything about.

I wonder if Mew has even ever been hugged. Or felt the warmth of company, seeing as it's the only Pokémon that lives on its island.
