With forums, everything you say is pretty much set in stone so people are a lot more careful. In the Lobby, they just say what's on their mind and let it drown out or get into a fight.
I honestly would suggest just leaving the Main Lobby open, checking it every so often and seeing what they get up to. Good for a laugh and shows you that everything could always be worse.
