Clod means "a lump of dirt of earth," but also refers to a simpleminded person. It also just meshes with clydesdale better, and is similar to "clop".
Mudsbray could be Donclod. Which has the bonus of sounding like "shitlord" since donkeys are stubborn assholes.
Claysdale wouldn't be too bad either, I suppose.
