They can waste it on a Kanto remake, which will sell regardless of when it came out, or use it to promote a new game, one that marks a slight change in formula they've been following for two decades. Both work equally well.
I'm just saying that looking at GF history with anniversaries, this argument that remakes make the most sense on anniversaries is just retarded. If a game is old and need update, and it will sell, that's all the reason to remake it. Not anniversaries. The only "wrong" time to remake something would be if there's no demand and if you're shitting out back-to-back remakes. Which would've been the case if they had remade Kanto for 20th anniversary.
