That would just buff water types with ice beam. I'd rather just give ice one less weakness, another resistance, and more offensive mons.

Maybe ice should resist and be super effective to water. All the other resistances and immunity make no intuitive sense.

Ice is supposed to be a fragile glass cannon type. It's supposed to be weak against many and super effective against many.

The real problem is all water pokemon having access to ice moves, making ice pokemon obsolete.

I think Ice should resist Fairy (just like Fire resists it) and Ground (EQ resistance would be killer). Dragon would be cool too but Fairy might have hurt them enough.

Ice-type doesn't need fixing, it needs more attackers like Weavile and Mamoswine that can abuse the type's offensive prowess.

"Water melts ice" is just as wrong as "ice freezes water".

It depends on quantity of temperature of both.
Tbh I think Ice should be SE against water because if you cool down water it literally becomes ice. The "ice can be melted" argument is kinda bad because water attacks are not supposed to be hot water. Fire is already SE against ice.

Water has a higher heat capacity than ice though. It's harder to freeze water than it is to melt ice. People who want ice to be SE against water are retards who are giving ice buffs in the wrong direction.

Just remove Ice's weakness to Fighting, Rock, and Steel. Those only make sense with literally made of ice Pokemon like Regice and Cyogonal anyway. Ice-types are no longer completely fucked defensively, but aren't overloaded with resistances like Steel-types.

Ice got the hero it deserved this gen. More mons with Snow Warning, the intro of Slush Rush, and Aurora Veil. Sure it'll take one or two gens before we get mons that can be good while making use of this, but it's definitely a start.
