Gen IV is the only gen where i'm ok with anyone having any of the 3 Final Stage starters as their favorites. Most of them have lousy base and mid stages, but all their Finals are great and appeal to different tastes. Gen VI and III get pretty close but they tend to have mons i gravitate more towards instead of achieving a perfect balance.

It was a humongous poll where /vp/ rated every single starter stage out of 5 and the final averaged result lead to those results. The voting process took up nearly 9 threads and i believe over 200 anons participated. It's the biggest, most detailed starter poll we've ever had in /vp/.

One day, probably a month or two ago, there was a thread discussing how starterwars were degrading the board to /v/ level shitposting.
One anon claimed to have been one of the primary instigators of the initial surge and said they helped to keep it alive. Get fucked OP. Best sinnoh starter. If anything, infernass is the joke. Weakest Fire/fighting starter, less powerful and frail against anything else. Least the other two have defense (both reg and special) and better unique typing.
