The contests are pointless to begin with. The show is pointless. At the very least they should be entertaining to watch. The performer shouldn't be the focus in a show about Pokemon, it should be the Pokemon. The people's judgment was completely arbitrary, Serena's wins and losses were plot convenience, especially beating the hometown favorite then losing to Elle's even worse performance.
That was an afterthought justification for taking the easy route with contests again.
Those are the same things rephrased. She told him he's not the Ash she knew, and he encouraged her. Again, giving each other some brief motivation once in a blue fucking moon doesn't form an interesting relationship. It wasn't nearly consistent or prevalent enough to form a strong friendship, and they had absolutely nothing going on outside of it.
Nigger she wasn't even attempting to touch him in that scene, she was just blushing. That gif/webm was posted all the time out of context to make it seem like she was going for his hand, but she wasn't. Why would she? She had no problem running up to grab him in that kindergarten episode where he fell.
