>>32253833I'm willing to accuse you of believing the Mew glitch was meant to exist. Or that Mew was ever supposed to be truly obtainable, because it wasn't. It was a data value placeholder like Missingno and like Origins suggested, you strive to catch the 150 only to find there is an elusive 151 hidden LITERALLY inside the cartridge. It basically caused the notoriety of the capturing aspect of the series, which at that point was at it's strongest due to basic pokeball options (no x4 balls) and having to use the Safari Zone to complete the dex.
It was essentially like this
>oh hey mew exists>waaat?>you will have a hard time using the glitch because you challenged all NPCs for EXP >(instructions unclear, alternatives unknown)>Restart the game and become the only kid you know with a MewBack to the ITT, Missingno has a great color palette, interesting potential to have multiple forms (thanks GenIV) and doesn't need to be considered a true Pokemon in lore to be one (thanks GenVI)
Now would be the perfect time to reintroduce the most commonly lorded over glitch of our IRL generation. Name one glitch more well know than the "Rare candy glitch". Go ahead, give me one. Ask any passerby b/w 21-31 if they have heard of it. Ask those same people about your top picked glitch and I'm willing to bet they will know Pokemon's because everyone played that shit back then, everyone. Fads were huge in the 90s for not explicit reason.
OP has it right, could easily become best/spoopiest UB and could tie into another Kanto remake if they go that route.
