Most likely a new game in Alola. Maybe a new game in Kalos, because next year we'll get Eternal Floette.
Maybe a new game/remake in Kanto, because of the film, but most likely not. I think the next game is coming in 2018 and not 2017, so it would be too late to fit with the film, too.
Apart from Alola, Kalos and Kanto the only slightly likely one is Sinnoh, because of Lucario and Piplup, but that isn't much. I would definitely bet they're going to be the second game in gen 8 though.
