Allow me to make some logical guesses.
It will be the DP they wished to make in first place, not the Platinum they wished to make in the first place.
1. They still won't use Nat. Dex, especially in Gen 8 with more Pokemon. So, they will have to use the Platinum Pokedex.
2. Of course the game will be faster...
3. No GBA insertion/3DS insertion, or Game Corner.
4. They will tie Looker together with DP, no fucking way they can resist. GF loves Looker too much...
5. Only Mega Evolutions are Sinnoh Starters.
6. Giratina storylike like Delta Episode.
7. Gen 8's Battle Tower clone will be copypasted for compatibility with the previous games like usual. However, they will reformat the Battle Tower into something different for Palmer. SM has two Battle Facilities as well.
8. Move tutors since it will be after the core pair of a generation.
9. Pal Park will be unnecessary. Unsure if they will replace it with anything.
10. There will be customization unlike ORAS. Why? Easy, SM was the first game to have trainer models in battle. That puts them in a corner so they will not be able to get away with no customization.
11. Wi-Fi plaza will also be in Gen 8's core pair so that it can be copypasted into Sinnoh. The novelty of Festival Plaza will have worn off by the game Gen 8 comes so I expect a basic room for all internet features.
12. Amity Park will be improved because Walking Pokemon will have already been implemented probably in the next games.
