the pokemon evolutions have little to do with evolution in the darwinian sense and a lot to do with phases of life, child, adolescence, adulthood, just look at how pokemons "evolve", they start small and cute, then grow big and strong.
A next evolutionary stage of each pokemon should represent old age and wisdom. They fucked it up.
