>>32309159listen, even if they aren't canon it doesn't fucking mater, gender ARE canon, and blaziken can still be female and it's based on a rooster, primarina can be male and it's based on selkies, mawile can be male and it's based on a female yokai, the list goes on and on. The point is that just because its based on something it doesn't mean it has to follow it 100% when making a pokemon out of the concept.
