I think Masuda doesn't have many opportunities like B2W2 to really really surprise the fanbase. He can't surprise people with the usual core pair of a generation like XY or SM. Everyone knows those come every three years... Everybody was shocked when ORAS was announced, but it was very predictable to think Hoenn was after XY though.

The next whatever game is Masuda's rare opportunity to surprise everyone like with B2W2.

You can expect a sequel to Alola. But also including Kalos would make a suitable grand surprise like B2W2. Also, I think that Zygarde really does have a bigger mission in Alola.

It'd be really surprised if Zygarde got changed in whatever GF gonna release.

It'd be amazing if it finally got to change any of its formes at will and retain Aura Break. And it finally getting to protect the ecosystem would be a nice touch, especially figthing off the UBs.

B2W2 followed upon the remnants of Team Plasma and all that stuff, but there was no major reason to have it specifically set in UNOVA. What if it had had the same rough story but been set in an expanded Sinnoh instead?

Kahuna's are the "Elite 4" but then they made the Elite 4 and it's even said in game that all the island kahunas were suppose to be the Elite 4 but Nanu said hell no and Hapu, well I'm not sure why she didn't? Prob cause having Rock and Ground as Elite 4 types was too easy for Water and Grass types?
